Rusty's Labyrinth of Legends "Easy Path" Guide (Post 12.0)

Hey everybody, Rusty Scalpel here!  I wanted to create a blog post highlighting my experience with the Labyrinth of Legends.  First off, I want to say that I consider myself an average player.  I can hold my own against Kang and have killed a war boss or two, but I don't consider myself an elite fighter.  Hopefully this guide will help somebody in the future as I explain my strategy and what the labyrinth is like.  This is just my experience, and I don't think there is a right or wrong way to do it.  As an average player, if I wanted to complete it, I would have to channel my inner Chuck Norris.  After all..

Chuck Norris is the only person on the planet that can kick you in the back of the face.*

 Rewards/Resources
What you got vs. what you get

The rewards for completion are really good.

In my opinion, this game has two aspects to it.  Skill at fighting, obviously, and resource management.  In dealing with resources, I saved and saved, and saved some more.  I really didn't know what to expect as I have seen lots of forum posts that varied widely in resources used.  I saved revives and heals until I was overflowing.  I did the grind in arenas and quests, hording all the units I could get.  When I started, I had saved 17,654 units, and I wasn't sure that would be enough.  When it was over, I had spent 8,920 units. To me, all of those rewards for 8,920 units is a great deal.  Of course it came with a big headache.  Chuck Norris would be disappointed with me.

Chuck Norris once won a staring contest with the sun.*

The Team

Instead of building a team around one champ with lots of synergies, I decided to pick my 5 best attacking champs.  My rationale was that a 40% team revive costs 100 units where as a single revive costs 40 units.  I could get a 2/1 ratio on revives by having 5 viable attackers.

Star Lord (sig 59)  He has unmatched damage potential if you can keep a combo going
Scarlett Witch (sig 59)  Not as awesome as before, but she can still put out lots of damage
Winter Soldier (sig 40)  My only rank 4 5*.  He had to be in although there were times I didn't want him to power drain.
Wolverine (sig 60)  Great bleed and unmatched survivability
Captain Marvel (sig 20)  Attack bonus based on power meter

My strategy with this team was to only use team revives.  I felt this was the best use of my units.  One 5 hit combo from your opponent is probably going to KO you whether you are at full health or not.

The Mastery Setup

Masteries were heavy on offense and utility.  I really didn't want to constantly change them around so I just tried a universal setup.  I maxed parry, stupefy, petrify, and pacify in the utility tree.  The only defense I had was max block proficiency and max recovery for Wolverine.  If I did it again, I don't think Recovery was necessary.  All other mastery points went into offense without suicides.  If you can keep any kind of combo going, you don't want recoil as you will be firing off lots of specials.

The Labyrinth

The Labyrinth itself has several unique nodes that you have to consider.  First of all, every champ has evade.  Secondly, there is an enrage timer.  It starts at the beginning of the fight, and it's length is based on the attack rating of your champ.  The higher your attack, the longer the timer.  It counts down once, and your opponent gets attack buffs.  The timer starts over, and when it counts down again, your opponent get unstoppable and power gain.  That means you get KOed pronto!

There is an "easy" path that basically sticks to the outside wall of the maze.  All champs have about 1.5 million hitpoints and the labyrinth buffs.  There were 18 fights in all, with a golden symbiod that will ambush you once.  He has the moveset of Juggs without the unstoppable.

Here is a great map for reference.  (thanks to frogspawn)

The Strategy

When fighting it is important to evade as much as possible.  Blocking hits will sting really bad, and you need to use parry strategically.  You will become a professional at baiting special attacks.  I always tried to bait a sp1 and attack when there was an opening.  When the opponent didn't have enough power, I would parry into a combo, or even hit them while they were blocking to get them to 1 bar of power. Again, I only used team revives at 100 units each.  Chuck Norris wouldn't need any revives.

Giraffes were created when Chuck Norris uppercutted a horse.*

The Fights
Red Hulk - This is a pretty straightforward fight.  It's really important to bait his sp1 because it's much easier to evade than his sp2.  Other than that, just remember, Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one bird.*

Old Man Logan - I though OML was really quick.  His dash attacks came really fast as did his specials.  He caught me off guard a few times with his speed.  Also remember his heavy attack comes in two punches.  I rushed in too fast a couple of times and got caught with the second punch.  His regeneration is nothing to worry about.  It's only 10 per tick.

Elektra - I didn't have too many problems with Elektra.  I've read that it's hard to evade the stars on her sp1, but I think that they're not hard when you get the timing.  Her sp2 is easy to evade.  Just keep baiting and using parry when her power meter is below 1 bar.

Miss Marvel - This is another simple fight.  Specials are easy to evade and the character moveset is familiar.  She's nothing to worry about.

Golden Symbiod - I got my ambush next.  The Golden Symbiod only has 320k hitpoints.  He has the moveset of Juggs without the unstoppable.  He still cost me a couple revives though.  I had a major headache after doing all these fights back to back.

Unstoppable Colossus - This fight was hard.  And it was also when I ran out of saved items.  The main attack window is after a special, but you can't do that with UC.  Parry is your friend here.  But I will be honest, he took a lot of revives out of me.  As a side note, my mentality changed a little when I started using units.  I think I got a little nervous or something because I wasn't going to quit at this point.  I was either going to succeed of have an epic failure.

Colossus - Instead of following the outside path and fighting Vision, Spider Gwen, and Cyclops, I took a left into the Labyrinth to fight Colossus.  He has over 3M hitpoints and a couple unique buffs.  If he blocks a special, the damage is reflected back on you.  He did this twice to my Star Lord.  Also, his heavy attack is basically an auto KO.  Luckily all his specials and his heavy are easy to evade.  Just keep up the baiting, and he will eventually fall.

Falcon - Falcon presented a new challenge.  He has a sp1 that you have to block.  And it hurts.  The best thing you can do is evade the initial kick and block the gunshots.  His sp2 is much easier to evade. This is where Winter Soldier caused more problems than he solved.  If I was able to push Falcon to a sp2, I would inevitably power drain him to a sp1.  Also be careful if you push him into the corner.  His sp1 can't be evaded if he launches it after you finish a combo.  The reach requires two dash backs and there's not enough time.  He will inevitably catch you a few times, but he didn't seem to suck units any more than the other champs.

Gamora - She's one of the easier fights.  Easy specials to evade and a familiar moveset like Miss Marvel.  It's still 1.5M hitpoints, but the ease of the fight is a nice change.

Magik - This fight was awful.  It was also the most expensive.  It's worse than Maestro in my opinion.  When she triggers limbo, you basically die.  I tried healing all the way, and I don't think it mattered.  The only thing I could do was try to fill her power bar while she was stunned.  Hopefully the Pacify mastery would keep her from entering limbo.  This fight took a lot of units.  I think my longest combo was 50, and I had several fights that I got KOed without taking a hit.  Powering through is really the only option. I needed Chuck Norris here because..

Chuck Norris did that to Michael Jackson's face.*

War Machine - I don't like War Machine either.  His sp1 can't be evaded, so you have to block it similar to Falcon.  And it comes fast.  He caught me a few times with it when I let my guard down. It's also not easy to dash in after his sp1 finishes.  His sig ability is nothing to worry about. It will only trigger on 1 fight.  I'm still only using 100 unit team revives.  Sometimes I can get 130-150 hits, and sometimes I get KOed with a heavy at the start.  It's just part of the grind...

Antman - Antman will take a little bit longer effort because of his signature ability.  Several times I was hitting for less than 100.  Also, his sp1 is much easier to evade than his sp2.  At this point the fights are feeling the same.  Bait and evade the sp1 and then hit a combo.  Use parry and strike through the block to push them to 1 bar on the power meter.  Antman took a few extra revives compared to others, but he wasn't too hard overall.

Deadpool X-Force - I felt he was an easy fight.  Class advantage with Star Lord and easy specials to evade.  Similar to War Machine, his sig will only trigger on one fight. There's a sense that this may actually happen.  If Chuck Norris could see me now.

Chuck Norris can speak braille.*

Daredevil - Another easy fight.  The only thing is that he will evade most of my champs specials.  I saved for sp3 with some of my champs, but found that if Winter Soldier hit his kick on his sp2 then DD won't evade the shots.  A few revives and Daredevil was toast.

Venom - Venom is a lesson in evading.  His normal strikes are big and cover a lot of ground.  His sp2 comes from halfway across the screen.  Always be ready to dash back 2 or 3 times instead of once.  Also try to bait his sp1 and don't let him get to sp2.  If you remember when Venom was the boss of AQ, this will feel familiar.

Iron Fist - Iron Fist took me by surprise.  His dash attack has great reach and even when dashing back, he caught me with a long kick.  That kick was often 10k+ damage and an instant KO.  On the plus side his specials are easy to evade.

Civil Warrior - This was an interesting fight since I'm really not familiar with CW.  Both his specials are easy to evade, but there is a chance to rush in too fast after his sp1.  If you hit the aura from his sp1 you will get a KO.  As soon as he starts to stand up is the window to strike.  His sp2 is easy to evade.

AND...The Maestro -  I actually didn't think Maestro was overly hard.  He does have almost 3.4M hitpoints, but it went fast.  Some notes about Maestro:  His sp1 comes in 4 hits.  First is an initial small charge that is easy to evade.  Then comes 3 successive beams.  You can evade all three, but your timing has to be good.  Or you can block for the first two and evade the third.  You MUST evade the third beam because even if you block it, you will get degeneration.  The timing on this is easy once you've done it a couple times.  His sp2 is sword strikes, and it's easy to evade.  Another note; his heavy is two punches like OML.  The fight will still take several revives, but I was able to time out quite a few times.
Take that Maestro!  If Chuck Norris could see me now!

Once a cobra bit Chuck Norris' leg. After five days of excruciating pain, the cobra died.*

And there you have it.  All in all, it was a pretty difficult, but if you have enough units, it's definitely possible.  Like I said, I'm not the most skilled player, so I wanted to create a guide to give average players an idea of what they're getting into.  Thanks everyone for reading!

Kazuma's Alliance Quest Guide

Alliance Quest – What champions to bring and fight tutorial(Please note this is my personal opinion and AQ can be done with any champion)
When doing AQ the trick is to take very minimal damage or regenerate as much health as you can. Since the nature of AQ is clearing to the very end.

For me personally I would take in 2 champions specifically for clearing nodes, those who are used to doing AQ can usually get this done with just 1 champion.

For example I use my Doctor Strange to clear and regenerate health. I use my Vision to fight any nodes that have bleed or poison and my Thor is strictly only for bosses.

The following champions are great for clearing:

Doctor Strange – He is great when he is either duped or not. Regenerates health and mitigates damage. With Dr. Strange the play style is a little slower paced then the typical all out. Since he cycles through 3 different buffs he can essentially do it all.
Here is a video tutorial for using Dr. Strange from the youtuberSeatin man of legends: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytfIFyoRyjw&index=9&list=PLorK3FKNjz2jCZZyTjLlJ1n7r0O0iA8pQ

Scarlet Witch (Awakened) – She is unfortunately only great if she is duped. Regenerates health, power drains, power locks, stuns. She is my personal favorite champion. Her debuffs are some of the most insane in the game when she is awakened!
Here is a video tutorial for using Scarlet Witch from the youtuber Seatin man of legends: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZejKJfdPUw

Wolverine (Awakened) – He is great when only when he is duped. Wolverine has one of the best regenerations in the game and his bleed is good as well. With wolverine if you hold his specials and don’t use it, he will regenerate more health when his regen procs. The key is to use his specials to finish off the fight or at your own judgement but he is best when you hold the power bar.
Here is a video for using Wolverine, it’s not the best video but I think it showcases his regen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rwkY2ZGitc

Ironman and Superior Ironman and Iron Patriot (Awakened) – These champions are only good when duped. When your health drops below 15% (for Ironman and SIM) or 10% (for Iron Patriot) you will gain a regeneration buff. This is handy because every new fight can proc this regen so you can go into each node knowing that you have a regeneration available.

Ultron – He is great even when not duped. Ultron has 2 chances to proc regeneration. Once at 50% and the next at 25%. He will recover 25% health each time and this will work every new fight you go into. Also it is easy to heal him with a potion to get him right above the 75% or 50% mark then take a little damage and let his regeneration proc. Ultron also has a good bleed and stun abilities. Ultron is also poison and bleed immune which makes him great for the poison and bleed nodes.

Captain America and Captain America WW2 – Both are great even when not duped. Captain America is the best blocking champion in the game. He will take 0 damage or little to no damage while blocking. He is a slower paced champion but if played right you will take very minimal damage. The WW2 version also has a bleed so I feel he is slightly better than the original Capt.
Here is a video for using Captain America by the youtuberGrave Ender:

Guillotine (Awakened) – She is great when duped. Her awakened ability has the chance to life steal depending on the amount of souls she has. Her life steal is a little unreliable compared to the other champion but she makes up for it by doing high critical damage and bleed.

Original Deadpool (Awakened) – For those who are lucky to have this exclusive champion he is great when duped. Deadpoolhas the best regeneration is the game. Much like wolverine if you hold onto his power bars he will regenerate health. The only difference is that Deadpool’s regeneration effect is always on. Unfortunately this champion is very rare to obtain.

The following champions are good if you need to fight a poison or bleed node:

Poison immune – Ultron, Vision, Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel, Kamala Khan, Abomination, BlackboltRonin, She Hulk, Hulk, Red Hulk, Joe Fixit

Bleed immune – Ultron, Vision, Luke Cage, Colossus, Groot, Unstoppable Colossus, Ghost Rider

Please note that AQ can be done with any champion and all it does is takes practice, there are many great champions for different scenarios. Champion that crit a lot or bleed a lot can also be used to clear nodes if you are good at parrying and evading. Here are 2 videos on how to effectively parry and evade by the youtuber Dork Lessons:

As for boss nodes I usually take in class bonus champion or champions that can hit very hard. My personal favorite is Thor (Duped) but there are many champions. In reality and boss can be taken down with any champion all you need to do is practice and get used to the boss fights. It takes a lot of baiting of the specials and evading and damaging and repeating that process.
Here is a video on baiting specials from the youtuber Dork Lessons:

Practice by dueling the user – There is currently no user to practice on atm
Video Tutorial for fighting Kang - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoaCwW6RG5g
Practice by dueling the user – Terrore Blu

If you have any questions you can message me and I will help you as much as I can, AQ just takes practice and can be done with any champion. This is guide is just my personal opinion.
